Desjardins to Offer Permanent Identity Theft Protection to All of its Members

In light of the recent disclosure that Desjardins has suffered a major data breach, the credit union association has announced that effective immediately, the previous 5 year offer has been made permanent & to all of its members, offering members free identity theft protection services. Should any damages arise as a result of a data breach at Desjardins, they will offer you access to their lawyers & will compensate you for the loss.

Cormier said, effective immediately, all Desjardins credit union clients in Quebec and Ontario, including business customers, will have access to data protection for life and in-house services to help address identity theft.

He said clients who are victims of identity theft in the future will have free access to lawyers specializing in identity theft and will be compensated for losses.
