Our Review
Meridian Visa Platinum Travel Rewards Card
The Meridian Visa Platinum Travel Rewards Card is a travel card with the rare advantage of allowing cardholders to earn double the points for purchases made in foreign currencies. This card is aimed towards those who frequently travel outside of Canada and make purchases in foreign countries. Purchases made in CAD will earn 1 point per dollar, while purchases made in other currencies will earn 2 points per dollar, to be redeemed for a variety of rewards that are mainly geared towards travel. This card also offers an array of insurance, including travel coverage and more, and comes at a relatively low annual fee of $49 which is also waived for the first year of card membership. So, for those who travel outside of Canada and make purchases in foreign currencies frequently, this card has you covered with insurance and dedicated rewards. However, if you’re not a big foreign traveller, this card’s rewards are fairly modest.
